The Problem with Paper Cups
It’s a little-known fact that most paper cups supplied by coffee or fast food establishments have a wax or plastic-lined interior. This lining unfortunately causes issues within the recycling system. Unless the cup is 100% paper, it is not recyclable in most city recycling stations. To add to this problem, the majority of take-away cups are thrown away and join the forever growing landfill. We estimate that over 8,000 paper cups are tossed in the garbage daily here in our community. As a small, locally-owned business, we hope to spark an interest within our community to join the paperless movement by reducing our waste through example and education.
Our Solution: The Keep-Cup Exchange Program
The program is simple: instead of using a paper cup, purchase a Keep-Cup that is part of our program, and then simply return it on your next visit to receive a fresh cup in exchange! You won’t have to worry about cleaning your reusable cup since you’ll receive a fresh, commercially cleaned cup each time. This will cut the use of paper cups in half and save you time. Upon joining the program you will receive your first drink free and the knowledge that you are reducing your paper waste. With each return you will be guaranteed a fresh, clean cup that will keep your drink warm and tasting great.
Why not use my own reusable cup?
This program is being offered as a paperless alternative, and is just one of many ways to combat the use of wasteful paper cups. If you’d prefer to continue using your own takeaway cup, no problem! We will always make your drink the way you like it and we continue to encourage our customers to bring their own reusable cups. By promoting a new and different way to reuse, we hope to lead the way in reducing paper waste and use the Keep-Cup Exchange Program as an educational tool in our community.

- Take a few moments and enjoy the atmosphere of the coffee bar and have a coffee to stay.
